Black. Abstract. Art

Brittany Moná (Moh-Nay) (She/They)

Hi, and thanks for checking out my work. I’m a self-taught abstract-expressionist artist from Maryland. My work emphasize Black faces, culture, heritage, and influences across the African diaspora. My inspiration pours from Black culture, ancestral downloads, and the Black community.

Patterns, lines, shapes, and symbols are reflected throughout my pieces to stay rooted and pay homage to my ancestors. These elements are used as communication tools in the Black community from our hairstyles, body art, fashion, fabrics, garments, and tiles.

I work with various mediums: spray paints, acrylics, pastels, and clay. I hope that my pieces spark joy, creativity, and inquiry. My art is available to anyone who feels drawn to it.

Now open for commission.
