Making the connection of the common practice of leaving "that one" light on in a black household. This piece represents the practical and spiritual representation that light signifies in the Black community. Lights signaled safely through the underground railroad or as many believe, helps keep spirits away or invite them in. Maybe it's a practice preserved and passed down through modeling, just because, but still a common practice.
